Norfolk’s original gastropub

Absolutely fantastic – my partner and I treated ourselves to a night away for a change of scenery and it really did not disappoint. The Kings Head is a hidden gem, not too far from Norwich at all, with beautiful buildings, the river and wildlife close by. We stayed in the Walstan room, with gorgeous original beams on the ceiling and a huge bed. The whole room was super warm and cosy. Honestly, the food was absolutely amazing. The menu changes a little all the time as food is sourced locally and seasonally.

A beautiful, peaceful oasis of calm in a busy world. It felt like slipping into a warm and comforting gentle world with the team earnest and willing with no edge, no attitude just utter charm and ease. Room was cosy, The wine list was extensive and carefully constructed (not that I know much about wine, equally, I sense someone with a good “nose” there!) and the menu was lovely (one with ingredients sourced within 48 miles so we got to sample new things we might not have tried AND feel virtuous cutting food miles.

Everything just fantastic, we stayed for Sunday lunch. Hot tasty and well presented these chefs know what they are doing !!!! Customer service on point friendly and accommodating.
We travelled from Kent but will return definitely with family who live in Norwich but did not know about this little Gem. Have to book they were busy but well worth it. Highly recommend.

Wonderful experience of lunchtime dining at the King’s Head today. I had requested a quiet spot for my friend and I as neither of us cope very well with noise or too many people around us, or background music. They couldn’t have been more accommodating; in a small area by ourselves with no noise so we could both relax, no anxiety! The food was superb. King’s pie which was superb. We shared a King’s S’more pud which was fabulous. Really great service from the team who looked after us, couldn’t have been more impressed.
