The Kings Head at Bawburgh has raised £700 for two fantastic local charities through their ‘Back to Front’ night, choosing to support The Benjamin Foundation and Harry Vs Neuroblastoma. During the special event owner Anton Wimmer donned his marigolds and took charge of pot washing for the evening. The kitchen team including head chef Max Emmerson took over the restaurant floor and manned the pumps of the bar, whilst the front of house team took to their kitchen stations (instructed by fellow head chef Jake Armes).
The evening raised £350 for each charity and the money will have important impacts in the local community. The Benjamin foundation deliver a range of services across Norfolk and Suffolk including working to prevent youth homelessness, helping families to build stronger relationships, offering emotional wellbeing support and providing positive activities for young people with limited opportunities in life.
Whilst Harry Vs Neuroblastoma is all about helping an amazing little boy who has been diagnosed with high-risk neuroblastoma. Harry is nearing the end of his frontline treatment everyone is hopeful that he will be in remission when he has his next scans in April. However neuroblastoma is a particularly aggressive childhood cancer and Harry’s parents Carly and Ali are attempting to raise £239,000 by the end of April to access a vaccine in New York that’s showing promising signs in reducing the chances of relapse.
The money raised will go towards helping these fantastic causes and the team at The Kings Head were delighted to raise £700 to assist them. The highly commended Kings Head in Bawburgh wanted to reverse the usual roles their staff played in order to give everyone an idea of how their role assisted and impacted others in the tight nit team. With a donation being made for each diner from owners Anton and Tet Wimmer, a fantastic raffle full of prizes from local suppliers and supporters, as well as staff members donating their tips for the evening, the fantastic total was raised.
Owner Anton Wimmer was delighted with the amount raised “It was a fantastic evening of great fun and role reversal for the staff here at The Kings Head, it’s really boosted an already bustling team spirit and on top of that, we’ve managed to raise a great amount of money for two local charities – what a wonderful way to spend a Monday evening. Thank you to everyone that supported us during the fun filled Back To Front night!”
The Kings Head Bawburgh would like to thank everyone who visited us during the ‘Back to Front’ night or purchased raffle tickets in the run up and all those who donated to such worthy causes.
